This special day starts in the morning when a 4WD vehicle awaits in front of the hotel to take you on an adventurous day to discover every small and large about the desert.

After a scenic driving through the golden sand dunes, we will get to the edges of the dunes beside the Algerian borders, where nomad families live peacefully in their tents welcoming visitors. We will surely have a break and stay under their beautiful tents and drink a cup of tea in the middle of the black harsh desert. Leaving the nomads, we drive through a desert valley which will lead us to ascend a mountain offering a fantastic view. Over the mountain, you can clearly see the obvious transition from flat black desert to the high golden sand dunes with the valley in between.

On the other side of the main way, we visit “Khamlia” village to listen to Gnaoua music villagers sing as an important part of their legacy, originally brought from the Sub-Saharan countries.

After the returning to merzouga for lunch and rest, we continue this day with an unforgettable experience when you ride camels through the dunes straight to the camps to stay this night. The fortified castle has been transformed into a natural decoration for filming international films and series, perhaps the most famous “Game of Thrones”, as the Kasbah has well preserved its architectural originality overlooking valleys.
